Sanima Bank Award to journo duo
Kathmandu, November 29
The Press Council of Nepal (PCN)-Sanima Bank National Journalism Award Selection Committee has decided to fête journalists duo Sanjaya Neupane and Karna Bohara posthumously.
The National Journalism Award carries a cash prize of Rs 500,000. The families of the deceased journalists will be receiving the award amid a programme soon.
The award selection committee comprising Chair of the PCN Borna Bahadur Karki, President of the Federation of Nepalis Journalists (FNJ) Mahendra Bista, Chief Executive Officer of Sanima Development Bank Bhuvan Kumar Dahal and Chief Officer of Press Council of Nepal Jhabindra Bhusal unanimously took the decision to this effect today.
Late journalist Neupane’s latest professional association was with the Karobar Daily in the capacity of its editor while late Bohara’s association spanned both electronic and print media. The latter was the bureau chief for far-western region in News 24 television channel.
Neupane died of brain tumour on November 5 while Bohara passed away due to kidney-related ailment on November 25.
Sanima Bank had signed an agreement with PCN last year and announced the award would be distributed on the occasion of the bank’s anniversary on Mansir 21, every year.
