SCBN’s support for Maiti Nepal

KATHMANDU: Standard Chartered Bank Nepal (SCBN) handed over two sanitary napkin making machines to Maiti Nepal under its sustainability initiative ‘Futuremakers by Standard Chartered’ on Friday to support Maiti Nepal’s project to produce low-cost sanitary napkins.

The project aims to empower vulnerable girls and women through production of sanitary napkins that promote safe menstrual hygiene of women, as per a media release.

‘Futuremakers by Standard Chartered’, is the bank’s global initiative to tackle the issue of inequality and seeks to promote greater economic inclusion for young people in communities. They will do this by supporting marginalised young people from low-income households, in programmes focused on education, employability and entrepreneurship.
