Kathmandu, October 22

Teesha Shrestha has won the ‘My Card Ideas’ competition conducted by Laxmi Bank.

The competition was a design crowd sourcing competition that kicked off July 1 aiming to foster public’s creativity. Of the total 639 designs submitted during the competition, Shrestha’s submissions won the top prizes for all seven provinces, bagging her a total of Rs 350,000 — Rs 50,000 per province.

During the competition period of one month, designers had to design Laxmi Bank’s new Visa debit cards reflecting the culture, heritage and natural beauty of Nepal’s seven provinces.

Surprisingly, Shrestha’s designs outpaced the other submissions for all the seven provinces. With a decade-long experience in the field, Shrestha is currently working as a designer at Dragon Horse Design.

As per the bank, its new debit cards with award-winning designs will be available in the market within one month. Customers will be able to choose from among the seven award-winning designs.

Currently, Laxmi Bank is providing its services through its 115 branches across 48 districts, two extension counters and four hospital service counters, 140 ATMs, 2,500 remittance agents and 64 branchless banking agents across the country.
