Itahari, June 6:

The government, for the first time, is set to implement special security plan in Sunsari’s four places for the protection of industrial units. According to superintendent of police at Sunsari district police office Yadav Raj Khanal, the special security plan is in the pipeline after the increasing incidents of crime at the industrial corridor in Sunsari.

Under the special security plan, well-equipped security teams will be deployed round the clock one each in Sunsari’s Duhabi, Sonapur, Khanar and Itahari. “Such team will have a vehicle, communication set and necessary weapons,” Khanal said, adding that the team will comprise at least six security personnel.

A security plan with control room vehicle (CRV) — at Sunsari’s industrial corridors — is also under the consideration. He said that the security plan will not affect the concept of special industrial security plan.

“The CRV will be implemented within the 15 days and it will check criminal activities at the industrial corridor,” said SP Khanal. “The security personnel deployed under the CRV plan are not supposed to escort VIPs and handle other tasks. Their mission is to immediately inform control room at the regional police office in Biratnagar and area, and district police office about the incidents and other related matters.”
