Kathmandu, November 4:

Vijaya Motors Pvt Ltd is launching Subaru Forester in Nepal on Saturday. Forester is a high-end Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) manufactured by Fuji Heavy Industries of Japan.

The Forester has a Boxer 2.5 litre engine on which the piston movement is horizontal whereas most other automobiles either have a V-shape or vertical piston movement.

Its five speed manual transmission complies with Euro IV standard and is an all wheel drive (AWD) vehicle with intelligent, continuously variable transmission (I-CVT) engine.

The passive safety of the SUV comprises of airbags, seatbelts and active headrests that are designed to reduce the level of injuries as these safety features work according to inertia concept. To increase the safety factor, the Forester has incorporated ABS braking that works through compact sensors on all four wheels.

The price of the SUV is expected to be in the range of Rs 4.5 million.
