Suzuki, General Motors to end Canada partnership
TOKYO: General Motors Co. and Suzuki Motor Corp. say they have agreed to end their automaking partnership in Canada.
Suzuki plans to sell its 50 percent stake in CAMI Automotive Inc. to GM for an undisclosed price, giving the U.S. automaker full control of the company.
CAMI, based in Ingersoll, Ontario, started production in 1989 and has capacity to make 250,000 vehicles a year.
Suzuki's exit will leave GM without a Japanese production partner. It ended its California joint venture with Toyota earlier this year.
