TAAN to promote Nepal in US, Norway

Kathmandu, January 11

Two separate delegations of Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) left for the United States and Norway today to participate in the Washington DC Travel and Adventure Show 2017 and the Norwegian Travel Fair 2017, respectively.

TAAN President Chandra Prasad Rijal is leading the delegation to the Norwegian Travel Fair, which is also known as Reiselivsmessen Oslo 2017 to be held in Norway from January 13 to 15, as per a press statement.

Other companies participating in the fair are Himalayan Guides Treks and Expeditions, Himalayan Research Expedition and Sherpa Society Trekking. Similarly, Nepal Tourism Board’s Board Director Purna Kunwar and Officer Kundan Sharma are also part of the delegation.

“The team will disseminate message in European market that tourism in Nepal has bounced back after the 2015 quake,” the statement quoted Rijal as saying. “We will promote Nepali adventure tourism products and services in European market.”

Similarly, TAAN Treasurer Lila Baldab Dahal is leading a delegation to Washington DC Travel and Adventure Show 2017. The show will be held at the Washington Convention Centre on January 14 and 15. Himalayan Planet Adventures is the other company in the delegation, as per the statement.

TAAN has been participating in travel and adventure shows on a regular basis since 2012, while it is the association’s first participation in the Oslo fair, as per the statement.
