Choutara, October 18:

Minister for Finance Dr Baburam Bhattarai today said that the Tatopani customs office needed to maintain transparency as business transactions at the checkpoint would have a long-term impact on country’s economy.

Inaugurating the Special Festival in Tatopani VDC of Sindhupalchok district, Dr Bhattarai said all would be provided an opportunity to rectify themselves and that action would be taken if such wrongdoing continued. He iterated his commitment that the state would take action against syndicate system in the area and made it clear that the budget for development of the area would be provided even if it could not be included in the Red Book.

Earlier, Dr Bhattarai inspected the Tatopani customs office and interacted with the employees there.
