Toshiba sues Hynix

Tokyo, October 1:

Toshiba has sued South Korea’s Hynix Semiconductor and its US unit for allegedly infringing its flash memory patents, continuing a long-running patent dispute between the electronics giants. In a suit filed with the US ITC, Tokyo-based Toshiba Corp accused Hynix Semiconductor Inc of violating its patents for flash memory chips, and called for an injunction against imports of infringing products. Flash memory chips are key components in digital cameras and mobile phones. The action follows similar lawsuits filed by Toshiba against Hynix in the US over patents for DRAM chips.
