Transport revenue inflow up

The Department of Transport Management (DoTM), Mechi Zonal Office, has collected Rs 26,853,530 within the last four months of the current fiscal year. According to the office, only Rs 15,976,000 had been collected in the same period last year. In comparison, the office collected Rs 77,000 more this time - an increase by 68 per cent.
Of the total revenue, Rs 14,800,000 was collected from vehicle tax, Rs 7,421,000 from vehicles’ registration, Rs 2,937,000 from road repairs and customs fee, Rs 735,000 from income of the transport sector and Rs 947,000 from VAT, said office chief Bhim Prasad Gautam. He said that credit for the collection hike goes to the employees who have changed their working style.
