UTL rings in Pokhara

Kathmandu, August 2:

United Telecom Ltd (UTL), Nepal’s first private telecom operator, has expanded its reach to Pokhara from today.

On the occasion of its launch in the city, UTL is offering its HHT handset connection with a limited mobility at Rs 2,000, while the fixed wireless CDMA phone is priced at Rs 6,000, states a company press release issued here.

The CDMA phone can also be available at an initial down payment of Rs 3,535, followed by easy monthly instalments.

The company has floated a special offer of waiver call charges for a month for customers in Pokhara for calling within the UTL network. UTL’s telephone service is considered to be the cheapest in Nepal with calling charge of Re 1 per minute, exclusive of taxes. On a payment of monthly rental of Rs 100, customers can avail 30 free calls.
