Visitors throng Trade Fair

People throng China Trade Fair-2005 (CTF) on the third day at Birendra International Conference Centre (BICC). And it is because Chinese products have a good impression on Nepali consumers. “More than 25,000 people have visited the trade fair till the end of the third day,” organisers informed. Organised by the embassy of the People’s Republic of China and Nepal China Executives Council to mark the golden jubilee of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the event will be held till April 18. Stalls of electronic appliances, home and office furniture, telecommunication accessories, automobiles and mobile phones are the most crowded stalls at the event.

Though market promotions have been the prime objective of exhibitors, they are doing good sales side by side, said Anoop Ranjan Bhattarai, president of Nepal China Executives Council.

“The encouraging number of visitors and a healthy participation of exhibitors has encouraged us to organise similar fairs in the near future,” Bhattarai added. ‘Communication door-lock’ — manufactured in Taiwan by TCL South Communication Equipment Company Ltd — marketed by TCL and intel PABX System Nepal and is one of the most visited stall at the fair. Ram Sainju of TCL and Intel PABX System said that visitors have found the system exciting. The technology is the first of its kind to be introduced in Nepal and is suitable for multi storey buildings considering the security need.

Doorbell is connected to telephone and only pressing a key on the handset will open the door. The technology is priced at Rs 20,000 with four intercom links, Sainju said. Intel has introduced a computerised billing system in which all telephones are connected to a server and characterised billing of individual telephone could be received. The computer billing system of telephones is particularly suitable for hotels. Dinesh Chitlangia, marketing manager at Eshita Trading Pvt Ltd, said that the main objective of participation in the event was to promote Haier brand of electronic goods.
