Women make good bosses
Singapore, February 4:
Most senior executives believe women make good bosses, but a sizable number maintain men are more natural at being in charge, a poll by the Singapore Human Resources Institute said today.
Sixty-four per cent of the executives queried said gender makes no difference when it comes to being a good leader, according to the findings published in The Business Times.
Thirty-one per cent maintained that men make better bosses, while only four per cent thought women do so. Most of the executives polled work in the manufacturing sector and nearly half at multinational corporations. Ethics and integrity topped the list of desired leadership qualities, according to 53 per cent of the 193 executives, most of them human resource directors.
