Workshop on credit management starts

Kathmandu, December 23:

Rastriya Banijya Bank (RBB), the largest state-owned commercial bank is organising a 10-day residential workshop on ‘Credit Management’ from today. About 35 senior staff, majority of them from outside the valley, are taking part in the workshop.

Bruce F Henderson, CEO of RBB, speaking on the occasion attributed inefficiency in the working procedure to the lack of adoption of modern technology. He suggested the participants to utilise their skills in loan recovery and be cautious while lending.

“After 2010 as per WTO commitments, Nepali banking sector would have to face a tough international competition,” he said adding that only good corporate governance and professionalism could help.

“We need to show that RBB is competent vis-a-vis private sector,” Sudarshan Raj Pandey, RBB COO said.

Bijay Giri, CEO of KFA Training Institute opined that modern banking sector is looking for competent and professional human resource.
