WB likely to drop solar project

KATHMANDU: As the tender awarding process of the ‘25-megawatt Grid-Tied Solar Project’ has remained stalled since the last three years and the Public Accounts Committee has instructed the government to retender the project on Tuesday, the World Bank may decide to revert from financing this project.

As per the sources of World Bank Nepal office, the country could miss the chance of utilising $50 million allocated for energy efficiency because the retender process could take more than a year or two to award the bid.
