100 kids served hot meals

KATHMANDU: The Soaltee Crowne Plaza in association with the United Nations Women’s Organisation (UNWO) and the Ladies Association of the Malaysian Embassy organised the third soup kitchen at Kalanki on January 6. The Soup Kitchen project has been providing healthy and nutritious food to the street and working children of Nepal.

On the occasion, hot lunch was served to about 100 street children at Kalanki. The project’s first soup kitchen was organised at Kalanki on December 23 and catered to around 50 street children of the area. The second soup kitchen was held on January 1 for around 200 street children at the Child Protection Centre and Services (CPCS).

The projects are part of efforts aimed at bringing positive change in society.
