A proud moment

Congratulations’ was the word on every lips on the morning following the Education Day. The day of hard work had paid off. Consistent effort of the ‘Gyanodayans’ has been aptly honoured and decorated. Gyanodaya Bal Batika Higher Secondary School has been awarded with ‘Birendra Vidhya Regional Shield’ for central Development Region for academic excellence in the year 2060, evaluated on the ground of students passed, SLC performance and activities. It was indeed a proud moment for all of us when our honourable Founder-Principal Indira Yakthumba was conferred ‘Siksha Sewa Padak’2061. Her devotion has earlier been acknowledged and honoured with ‘Gorkha Dakshin Bahu’ conferred by His Majesty King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev.

Concerning the standard of education, it is undeniable that private boarding schools have been the complement for educational development. In this regard, I take my hats off to them. I am proud that a prominent private school working to provide quality education to meet the international standard is Gyanodaya Bal Batika School which has contributed 30 years of sincere service in the realm of education.

I feel fortunate to be a student of such a school. Today countless number of my seniors are in respectable sectors of the society as businessmen, doctors, engineers, social and government serviceme and we are, of course moving in their footsteps to serve the motherland and maintain the glory and dignity of Nepal. — Neharika Manandhar, IX ‘D’, Gyanodaya Bal Batika School
