Across cultures

KATHMANDU: An art exhibition entitled ‘10th Nepal-Korea Exchange Exhibition’ featuring 11 visiting Korean artists and five senior Nepali artists began on February 13 at the Buddha Gallery, Thamel. Jointly managed by Family Academia of Korea and Nepal Epilepsy Association, the programme is a part of the cultural excha-nge between the two countries.

The paintings by the Korean artists, all of them in watercolour, were inspired by their trek around the Annapurna region. The majestic mountains and beautiful flora of the hills is what dominates their paintings. Traditional homes and cottages found along the hills also find good presence.

Sung Hyun Park, a professor of art in Korea, and senior artist Ratna Rai were the chief guests at the inauguration. The Korean team will head to Ghorepani area with other Nepali artists, and the work done during this time will be displayed in the next cooperation exhibition to be held in Korea.

The exhibition is on till February 18.
