‘hotel rwanda’: Paul Rusesabagina

Premise: Don Cheadle stars in the true-life story of Paul Rusesabagina, a hotel manager who housed more than 1,000 Tutsi refugees during 1994’s bloody genocide in Rwanda.

Strength: Social significance. Rusesabagina is the only living biopic hero out of this year’s slate, and he has been vocal in support of the film’s importance and accuracy.

Weakness: Lacks an audience — so far. Among the leading biopics, ‘Rwanda’ is the one on the bubble, primarily because of its grim subject matter.
