Alpabiraam to be screened
Kathmandu:
The Comprehensive Peace Treaty has been signed. The country has breathed a sigh of relief. Lots of hopes are pinned on the New Nepal that has been promised us by our leaders.
However, the insurgency is a memory that none will ever forget.
Alpabiraam is a movie that explores the insurgency that wracked our country for the last 10 years. It has been screened in Hong Kong and was well received. However, it has not been screened in Nepal itself.
At a press meet organised on November 26 in the Capital, it was informed that the National Forum of Photojournalists (NFPJ) and A Creative Group Movie Makers is holding a fundraising screening of the film on December 14 at Kumari theatre. The aim is to raise funds for NFPJ.
Alpabiraam directed by Narayan Puri stars Sunil Pokharel, Captain Bijay Lama and Rama Thapaliya. The film, which is in Nepali, will have English subtitles and so the non-Nepali speaking audience too will be able to enjoy every nuance of the film. Tickets for the screening are priced at Rs 1,000 each.
