Aniston to begin 2nd innings on small screen

LONDON: Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston, who shot to fame with her role in television sitcom 'Friends', is all set to begin her second innings on the small screen with Oprah Winfrey.

The 40-year-old actress will produce and star alongside the media mogul in a weekly late-night programme which will broadcast on the Oprah Winfrey Network, a new channel set to launch in the US next year, reported Sunday Express online.

It was Aniston's friendship with comedienne Chelsea Handler, who fronts her own TV talk show, that inspired her to take on the project.

"Jen became fascinated with the format after spending time with Chelsea. When she saw Oprah she mentioned that it would be fun to do a chat show and Oprah seized the moment and suggested they front one together for her new network," a source said.

Aniston, who is said to have a USD 210 million fortune, is still negotiating her salary, but reports suggest the new venture won't yield her major earnings just yet.

"Her salary is yet to be determined. She is doing this for one reason only: She absolutely wants to do it," the insider added.
