Birthdays sans B’day cakes for Americaqn kids

American kids are being banned from taking birthday cakes into school to celebrate with their classmates — because it’s too unhealthy. A growing number of schools in the country are scrapping the celebrations, which has been a part of American life for many years. It’s thought that one in six school children in the nation is overweight.

The cake ban follows a country-wide campaign to stop kids snacking on food which isn’t good for them. Some schools are even being offered money if they stop selling pupils food which is high in fat and sugar.

People against the cake ban say it means kids are missing out on an important part of childhood.
