Blanchett attends govt meet with baby son

NEW YORK:

Actress Cate Blanchett has given her new son his first taste of public life, taking him to an Australian government summit just six days after he was born. The Oscar-winning star, 38, chaired a creativity brainstorming panel at the Australia 2020 forum in Canberra.

She arrived with Ignatius Martin Upton, her third son, born on April 13.

“It is a measure of my belief in the weekend that I am here at all,” Blanchett said. “As you could imagine, I would rather be in bed.”
