Achievement classes

The Junior Achievement (JA) programme has begun at the Shuvatara school for students of the lower secondary and secondary levels. About 160 students are participating in the programme that began on November 19, which will continue till February 11, 2006. The JA classes will be conducted every Saturday for two hours for 12 weeks. The purpose of JA is to educate and inspire young people to value free enterprise, business and economics to improve the quality of their lives. — Alisha Manandhar, Class IX, Shuvatara school

Spelling bees

The preliminary rounds of an inter-school spelling competition were held at the Godavari Alumni Association hall on November 9 and 10. Forty-eight teams from 40 schools had participated in it. The schools that have reached the finals are. Teams from eight schools have reached the finals in the junior and the senior levels. The finals will be held in December . — Rabee Sharma
