Bringing science and culture together
KATHMANDU: On the occasion of Shri Panchami, Alok Vidyashram organised a Saraswati puja and exhibition on Science, Social studies, Sanskrit and computers by students from classes IV-IX.
The function started with the lighting of the lamp by the school’s principal and an address by the chairman of the school. Parents and guardians visited the stalls that displayed the works done by the children and also received prasad.
The highlights of the science department were models of solar energy, fire extinguishers, functions of the electric bell, magnetic buzzer, electroplating. In social studies various topics were covered like rainwater harvesting, information of different types of volcanoes, natural disasters, world history, and different types of town planning and cultures of Nepal. The students chanted sholkas in Sanskrit and the translation in English were displayed. The computer faculty displayed various softwares, which students learn.
The primary and pre-primary section made colourful drawings and craft work for exhibition.
