Calling all green writers
KATHMANDU: Are you worried about today’s climatic conditions? Do you feel your voice needs to be heard? Then here is PartyNepal’s COW project in association with GO green that aims to work with young Nepalis to Save Our Planet. This model is about unlocking creative ways for providing opportunities and giving a platform to young Nepalis to raise issues and concerns so that they can contribute to curb climate change and disaster occurrences.
They plan to do it by using various effective measures to disseminate information and empower the youth to take a more proactive stance in challenging the leaders to ensure a safer and healthier Nepal. So, as a first step, under the COW Project, they are organising two writing competitions.
The first one is on the topic ‘Animal Sacrifices’ for students from Classes VI-VIII, and the other on ‘Tyre burning as a form of protest’ for students from Classes IX-X.
Articles will be judged on knowledge gained from research and self-analysis and how this has been effectively portrayed in the writing. Innovative and original lines of thought are encouraged and advised. Winners will receive attractive gift hampers and prizes.
Send in your completed articles/essays to rabi@gogreen.org.np / robin@partynepal.com by 4:00 pm, February 25. The winners will be announced by 3.30 pm, February 27.
