KATHMANDU:

Its time for the DJs to clash their swords. At the preliminary round of the two-day long event ‘DJ Nepal 2006’ that kick-started at the Kathmandu Mall on May 28, 19 contestants wrestled for the coveted title. With gigs that ranged from hip-hop, house, trance and psychedelic, each of the contestants set the crowd to jive along with the high-voltage music. The jury team comprises DJ BMan, DJ Flex (Club 2000) and DJ Rupesh (Black Pearl). The results of the contest will be announced on June 2. The event is organised by Sound Garden, managed by Abir and supported by Nepa Music. — HNS
