Carey credits god with comeback
LONDON: Mariah Carey reads the Bible every night before she goes to bed, crediting her faith with helping her return to the top.
After topping the charts throughout the 1990s, Carey's career slumped after the failure of her debut movie Glitter in 2001 and the soundtrack album that accompanied it.
She returned to prominence with the success of 2005's The Emancipation of Mimi - and Carey insists it's no coincidence she found God just a year before.
The singer tells PopEater.com, “A friend of mine’s mom gave me a student bible about 2004. You read it three times and then the last time you’re reading every word, you’re not skipping things. I have been reading that bible pretty much every night for years and I learned a lot.”
