Carey’s breakdown breakthrough
LONDON:
Singer Mariah Carey has finally spoken out about her nervous breakdown, describing it as a ‘breakthrough’ for her.
Carey, who suffered a public disintegration in 2001, insists she has no regrets about the experience. When she began behaving in a bizarre manner during public appearances, it caused some worry among fans. But she soon took a break to be treated for extreme exhaustion.
Ananova.com quoted Carey as saying, “I’m far from perfect. I’m still learning. I overworked myself, and I paid the price. I consider the breakdown a breakthrough. I needed to hit rock bottom. I needed to understand the cost of pushing so hard, fighting so hard against the system. But was I out of control at that moment? Yes!”
