Carrey not looking for ‘Eternal’ love
LOS ANGELES: Actor Jim Carrey says he couldn’t have performed the lead role in the upcoming film ‘Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind’ if he had not been through painful experiences in love relationships.
In the movie, Carrey’s character has memories of his girlfriend, played by Kate Winslet, erased after she’s had him wiped from her mind.
Asked by reporters if there’s a relationship he would erase from his memory, Carrey said, “I would never tell you.” “That would entail me opening up the crucial intimacy of my life, and I can’t do that,” he said. Carrey, twice divorced, isn’t worried about finding true love, though he’d “love that to happen if that happened.” “Everybody expects that fairy tale that you’re going to be together forever with somebody, and I don’t really subscribe to that,” he said. “But 10 years is enough. A lot of good love can happen in 10 years.” — AP
