Catwoman pawns William Morris Agency off

LOS ANGELES: Halle Berry fired William Morris Agency last week after claiming the company’s

new president made remarks in an interview with New Yorker magazine that compromised their professional relationship. The Oscar winning actress made the move after David Wirtschafter said Berry would settle for a smaller pay packet to work with a good director or co-star, which New Yorker writer Tad Friend explained would buy insurance for a career which “needs burnishing after Catwoman.” Although the comic book adaptation flopped badly in both the US and abroad, Berry still earned a cool $12.5m plus backend profits for her feeline antics. — The Guardian
