Chef’s choice : Sweet and tangy fish

If you would like something different for dinner this weekend or if guests have arrived and you want to serve them something delicious but not time consuming to prepare then here is a great dish that is not only yummy but also equally healthy. Chef Umesh Khatri of Popular Seafood Point Restaurant at Panipokhari shares the recipe of ‘Stir-fried fish with sweet lemon sauce’.

Stir-fried fish with sweet lemon sauce

Ingredients

•Fish: boneless (preferably pomfret) half kg

•Green beans: handful, cut in finger size

•Broccoli: handful of flowers

•Finely chopped garlic: one teaspoon

•Corn flour: two table spoons

•Sugar syrup: one and half teaspoon

•Lemon juice: one and half teaspoon

•Salt: according to preference

•Oyster sauce: one teaspoon

Preparation method

•Dice the fish in small cubes and set aside

•Boil beans and broccoli for few minutes, drain the water and leave it to dry

•Heat 30ml oil and sauté the chopped garlic till golden brown

•Then add the vegetables, oyster sauce, sugar syrup, lemon juice and half cup water

•After few minutes add corn flour and keep stirring till consistency of the sauce becomes a bit thicker and set it aside

•Lightly dredge the fish cubes in flour and shake off excess flour

•Deep fry the cubes till golden brown

•Add the fried cubes to the sauce

•Let it cook for some time

•Serve the dish hot with steamed or fried rice (serves one)
