Photographs of Harry Potter actor Robbie Coltrane are being used by police in New Zealand to try and catch a 16-year-old burglar. Police think the teenage criminal looks so much like a younger version of the Hagrid actor, that they’ve put his picture on their wanted posters. The law in New Zealand does not allow photographs of young people who have committed crimes to be shown. Police hope that this will help them catch the criminal instead. The poster states clearly that Robbie Coltrane is not the burglar — but asks that the residents of Christchurch in the South Island imagine the actor as a teenager with greasy hair.
