LONDON: Oscar winning actor Russell Crowe is certain that American Gangster director Ridley Scott will win an Academy Award for his craftsmanship.

Crowe co-stars with Denzel Washington in the movie and believes Scott will get lucky and bag the coveted award he deserves, contactmusic.com reports. He said, “If there’s any director I know who deserves an Oscar, it’s Ridley Scott. He is one of the greatest visual artists of our time and deserving of any honour that comes his way.” Crowe, who has worked with the director in Gladiator in 2000 for which he won the best actor award, teams up with him again in Sheriff of Nottingham. He says the new Robin Hood character in the movie will be portrayed as a ruthless character.
