Cruz in next POTC?

LONDON: Spanish actress Penelope Cruz may team up with Johnny Depp in the next instalment of Pirates of the Caribbean. Director Rob Marshall has been roped in to direct Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tide and he is in talks with Cruz for the movie, reported imdb.com. Cruz featured in his directorial venture, Nine.

Keira Knightley, the female lead in the previous three films, quit the

franchise in 2008, while her

co-stars Orlando Bloom and Mackenzie Crook too announced earlier this year that they would not feature in the fourth instalment. Depp has signed on to

resurrect eccentric Captain Jack Sparrow for a reported pay cheque of $33.6 million for the Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tide.
