Depp likely to portray Moore

LONDON:

Producers in Hollywood are planning to make film on former Bond actor Sir Roger Moore’s memoirs, with Johnny Depp tipped for the central role.

Two top US production companies are reportedly vying to get the screen rights to Moore’s book My Word is My Bond, which was released in October this year.

The book has spicy details of Moore’s exploits with legendary co-stars including Elizabeth Taylor, Lana Turner and David Niven in the 50s and 60s, the Contactmusic reported.

A source close to the veteran actor has confirmed that producers are keen to sign up an A-list star to play the character of Moore and Depp is tipped to take the role.

“The two production companies interest in Sir Roger was heightened after they read the tales of his Hollywood exploits. They are keen to centre on that era ahead of his 007 days. They believe filmgoers will lap this one up and it could be a huge hit. The whole project is shrouded in secrecy but Sir Roger has been telling fri-ends, with a knowingly raised eyebrow, that he’s a great admirer of Johnny Depp,” the source added. — Agencies
