Dharawasi’s Radha bags Madan Puraskar

Jhapa: Krishna Prasad Bhattarai whose pen name is Krishna Dharawasi has been awarded the ‘Madan Puraskar’ for his novel Radha. This is his twelfth work.

Dharawasi who started his literary career with Balak harayeko suchana in 2048 BS, said, “I am happy and being awarded the Madan Puraskar proves that people from villages can too pen award-winning literature.”

Radha is based on the relationship of Krishna and Radha. It tries to depict Radha’s life after separating from Krishna. Dharawasi has published 13 literary works including a poetry collection Unmukti Awajharu, an essay collection Naribhitra ke cha hajur?, novels Adhabato, Sharanarthi and Radha and short stories collection Jhola, among others. Besides the Madan Puraskar, Dharawasi has received a number of other awards and citations.
