Domino is a dark action, comedy directed by Tony Scott and has Keira Knightley, Mickey Rourke and Christopher Walken in a movie about a former Ford model called Domino Harvey who becomes a bounty hunter who has to bring some baddies to jail. Says Knightley, “Everything that Domino, whom I play, isn’t afraid of scares the hell out of me.”
Romance And Cigarettes directed by actor John Turturro is a love story set in working class Brooklyn. James Gandolfini plays the head of a clan whose affair with a redheaded temptress (Kate Winslet) nearly destroys his wife (Susan Sarandon) and family. Great music.
Brokeback Mountain starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger is about two cowboys who fall in love with each other. Directed by Ang Lee, the movie has a Oscar buzz about it. Says Gyllenhaal, “The idea is if you have love, no matter what it is, you hold on to it.”
Prime has therapist (Meryl Streep) encouraging her patient (Uma Thurman) to have a May-December affair until she discovers that man... the affair is with is her son.
The Weather Man has Nicolas Cage as a weather anchor trying to give up his job while Hope Davis his wife and Michael Caine disapprove.
Memoirs Of A Geisha directed by Rob Marshall who says, “What’s exciting is there’s all these layers to the geisha world at the centre of which is a Faberge egg.” Ziyi Zhang stars as a geisha who falls in love with businessman (Ken Watanabe) while her rival and mentor go after and look after her respectively.
Of A History Of Violence, Kelly Borgeson says, “When he thwarts a robbery, small-town diner owner Tom Stall (Viggo Martensen) and his wife (Maria Bello) find themselves in the media spotlight and in the sights of two mobsters (Ed Harris and William Hurt) looking to settle a score. Is it a case of mistaken identity? Or is Tom not the man he claims to be? David Cronenberg directs.”
Lord Of War is a movie that follows that exploits of the Brighton Beach hustler Nicolas Cage who rises to fame as an international arms dealer. Ethan Hawke plays the Interpol agent on his tail.

The White Countess is Ismail Merchant last production. It is a love story set in 1930’s Shanghai. Peopled with Russian royalty, blind American diplomats and Vanessa and Lynn Redgrave as a prostitutes mother and aunt. Says Ralph Fiennes, “There are no moments of sweaty passion. It’s a slow burn.”
