Quiz contest
KATHMANDU: As a part of the first national level inter high school Mathematics Quiz conducted by Kathmandu University High School (KUHS), the central development region quiz was held on May 8 at DAV Sushil Kedia Viswa Bharati School. The quiz started off on April 13 aiming at inculcating students with fun ways of learning mathematics and its applications.
Govinda Rizal, coordinator of the Mathematics Council said, “It’s all about encouraging the students to hone their skills by providing them a platform to shine and realise their true talent.” The quiz, which drew an enthusiastic response from 16 schools, was conducted at two levels, the written round and the on-stage quizzing. Two students from the winning school from each development region will be participating for the finals at KUHS on May 29. — HNS
Grant for library
KATHMANDU: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Embassy of India, the District Development Committee, Udayapur and the Trijuga Janata Multiple Campus (TJMC), Gaighat, Udayapur. According to the MoU, grant assistance from the Government of India amounting to Rs 11.25 million will be provided for the construction of library building and provision of books and necessary furniture and equipment for TJMC, Gaighat.— RSS
