‘Euta Yasto Prem Kahani’ movie to hit theatres amid Covid-19 pandemic

KATHMANDU: The realm of Nepali films that has been at a standstill for more than nine months due to the Covid-19 pandemic is set to resurrect following the decision of Nepal Motion Picture Association (NMPA) to operate the cinema halls from December 25.

The forthcoming multi-starrer film ‘Euta Yasto Prem Kahani’ that is presented by action actor Shiva Shrestha has announced its release date.

Shiva Shrestha who contributed hit movies like Chino, Kanchhi, Thuldai to the Nepali film industry, has also worked in the Pakistani film fraternity.

Issuing a press statement via the official Facebook page of the film, the production team agreed to release the film as Shiva Shrestha yearned to support the Nepali film industry at a time when it has been paralysed owing to the pandemic.

“We are being a part of the hall operators' campaign who have been trying to revive the Nepali film industry that has been halted due to Covid-19,” the statement said. “The film is set to hit the theatres across the country on Magh 1. “We look forward to receiving your support and effort in this difficult situation."

Helmed by Dipesh Sapkota, the movie comprises leading actors Shiva Shrestha, Priyanka Karki, Ayushman Desraj Shrestha Joshi, Barsha Raut, Sanjog Koirala, Mithila Sharma, Basundhara Bhushal, Naren Khadka, Ang Temba Sherpa, Bishnu Chemjong, Rekha Limbu, Dhruba Koirala among others.

Made under the banner of Fishtail Movies Pvt Ltd, Dinesh Darshandhari and Yashoda Rai Tumbahangphe jointly produced the movie whereas Sunil Katwal, Ram Narayan Shah, Dinesh Thapa Magar, Khum Tamang and Tara Tuladhar are the co-producers.
