KATHMANDU: Candles lit the way that was decorated with flower petals welcoming guests. As one walked down the stairs inside Hyatt Regency, Boudha on September 16, the aroma of varieties of food items wafted tantalising one. As one reached Rox Garden, the varieties of food stalls made one want to grab a plate immediately.

At ‘A Taste of America’ organised by the Embassy of the United States of America regional cuisines from America were served. It was indeed a good chance for Nepalis to enjoy American varieties. Be it the Barbeque Pork or Corn Bread or Caesar Salad, there were more to try, with choices for vegetarians too like Potato Salad, Vegetarian Barbeque, Red Beans Rice. Cioppino, Ham on Cheese Biscuit, Coleslaw, New York Cheese Cake, Pumpkin Pie and other regional food items were a novelty for many.

“The event is organised to celebrate food. Many Nepalis are immigrating to America and we have been learning about the food culture. I am here to share food business and also help business entrepreneurs and share expertise here in Nepal and also learn about the food culture of the country,” shared Chef Mark.
