Eyes set on Miss Tourism Queen

Kathmandu:

The nation seems to be celebrating the return of peaceful times with pageants and more pageants. Miss Nepal 2007 was crowned barely two months ago, while we saw

a beauty pageant for the third sex ‘Pink Queen’ a little more than three weeks ago. Now it’s time for another pageant that will see one of the final participants crowned ‘Miss Tourism Queen International Nepal 2007’.

To be held on June 16 at the beautiful Fulbari Resort in Pokhara, 14 contestants are vying to become the ambassador of tourism of the country. The winner will represent Nepal in the Miss Tourism International Queen 2007 pageant to be held in China in the month of July.

Currently the participants are undergoing intensive training at Hotel Ambassador. They are being choreographed by Prabha Amatya, while their personal grooming has been left

in the capable hands of Rojin Shakya. The costumes for the pageant have been designed by NIFT, while the make-up will be done by Neil David Salon of Hair and Beauty.

The talent round will be held on June 9 at the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB).

Miss Tourism Queen International pageant was first held in the year 1993. This year’s pageant will begin from July 7 in China and participants from 100 nations will taking part

in the pageant that will be telecast live on 50 television channels.

Cecelia Gurung had represented Nepal at the international pageant in the year 2005.

Miss Tourism International Nepal 2007 is being organised by Group of Entertainers in coordination with NTB, with Annapurna Post as the official print media. The co-sponsors of the event are Everest Beer and Marco Polo Travels.
