Fall made Richards quit drugs

LONDON:

Guitarist Keith Richards of the legendary Rolling Stones gave up cocaine only after he injured his head when he fell off a tree in Fiji in 2006.

Richards, who had gained a reputation as a drug abuser, revealed he gave up drugs just two years back. The 64-year old guitarist had to undergo a cranial surgery after the fall.

“I’ve found myself sleeping better since the bang on the head. I had to give up the bump (cocaine). How do you stay up for so many days?

By the time that happened, it was really just once after meals anyway. Thank god I’ve got a reason to give it up,” he was quoted as saying by contactmusic.com.
