Fans go wild at taras’ concerts

Kathmandu:

In another four days the nation will get its first Nepali Tara. The hunt for the Samsung Nepali Tara that began around seven months ago has reached its final leg generating a craze among fans as never before. All top nine finalists have become sensations and are the hot property of even managers. Sometimes they even perform two to three programmes a day.

On September 23 they rocked the concert at Patan Campus making the crowd go crazy with their title song. “It was nice to see the crowd singing our title song along with us,” said Pushpa Poudel.

The crowd did not get enough of their favourites Dharmendra Sewan, Indira Joshi and Deepak Limbu and did not let them leave the venue till they performed once again.

They were mobbed for autographs and fans even asked for their signatures on their shirts or hands and even bare chests!

The same day around 12,000 persons danced to the Taras’ tune at Bhrikuti Mandap.

The highlight was Dharmendra Sewan’s raw vocal power which kept the audience on its toe despite technical problem and unavailability of track music. On their Pokhara run, thousands had turned up to cheer their local boy Dharmendra. The first Nepali Tara will be declared on October 1 and they will be performing live with Indian Idol Abhijeet Sawant on October 2 and 3 in the Capital.
