This is the first Indian Idol season in which girls have made it to the finals. And there is yet another first — a song composed specially for the grand finale, which involves the judges past and present of this popular Indian reality show. It is a judges reunion, where current season judges and former judges from Indian Idol seasons have come together and composed a song for the show.

For the first ever time on Indian Idol, judge Javed Akhtar has written lyrics for a song composed by fellow judge Annu Malek and sung by past judges Alisha Chinai and Udit Narayan along with current judge Kailash Kher.

The foot-tapping song has a chorus by all the Top 14 contestants of Season Four. However, everyone is bound to miss Sonu Nigam’s voice. Of course, if Farah Khan could have choreographed the song, the song would have ended on a perfect note.

While the recording of the song was happening, Sonali Bendre too joined the gang to lend her support. This composition by Malek will be unveiled just before the announcement of the winner of Indian Idol on March 1.
