Train journeys could have been much faster, as old plans have been uncovered to get people travelling by nuclear powered flying saucer! Designs for the vehicle were found on a website by a student, who thought it was a joke at first. The craft, thought up in 1970, would have been used by British Rail to get people around the solar system.

But scientists who looked at the plans said they’re based on technology that doesn’t even exist yet.
