Food festival leaves its mark

Pokhara:

Annapurna Post International Food Festival that had been held for two days in the Exhibition Centre in Pokhara concluded on January 26 serving a variety of food items to the residents of Pokhara and tourists too. The visitors enjoyed themselves participating in various games and musical performances as well. Food stalls of nine countries had been presented to the visitors at the venue. Tourist entrepreneurs said that the festival will be helpful in promoting tourism business in Pokhara. Tourist entrepreneur Basanta Dabadi, who was enjoying the food in front of the Indian food stall said, “I found the concept of the festival very good and it is also well organised.”

Hotel Barahi’s Food and Beverage Manager Balaram Bhandari said the festival has certainly made its mark among the visitors. Hotel Barahi presented Bangladeshi cui-sines at the festival.

The exhibition venue was filled with a large number of visitors who were relishing in the delicacies present there. While some enthusiastic ones were hurrying home after receiving their door prize. Rajendra Shahi won the door prize — a microwave oven. The grand door prize winner is ticket number 8526 who will receive tickets for Kathmandu — Hongkong — Kathmandu flight.

This festival was organised with the objective of providing varieties of tastes to Pokhrelis which included cuisines like American, Indian, Chinese, Bangladeshi, German, Nepali, Japanese, Arabian and Thai food items. Bands and artistes Mad Zone, Cholendra Paudel, Bimal Parajuli, Shovit Basyal, Ujwol Bhandari, Dharmendra Sewan, Damage Glitters, Kid Soul performed at the festival. Lowenbrau was the main sponsor of the festival.
