France honours Eastwood

LONDON: French President Nicolas Sarkozy has presented movie icon Clint Eastwood with the nation’s highest cultural honour.

Eastwood was made a commander in the prestigious Legion of Honour in Paris at a ceremony on November 13.

The actor-director, who flew to France for the ceremony, said, “This is a wonderful honour. I really love France. I love movies, and I love the appreciation that the French people have for movies.” The honour has come to him two years after Sarkozy’s predecessor Jacques Chirac honoured him as a knight of the Legion of Honour.
