Golf for a cause: Tee off at SIRC event

Kathmandu:

The Spinal Injury Rehabilitation Centre (SIRC) will be holding its third Charity Golf Tournament

on November 19 at the Gokarna Forest Golf Resort. The SIRC was set set up by Sir Edmund Hillary in 2002 and is an independent organisation that is running without any fund from the government sector. The SIRC has been organising the Charity Golf Tournament every year as a token of respect for the people living with spinal injury and to raise funds for the rehabilitation centre at the same time. In rural areas most of the patients get injured while collecting tree fodder, following livestock on cliff sides, or walking on steep trails with loads on the back. Increasing bus accidents further aggravates the already upsetting situation. The Charity Golf Tournament has been organised in collaboration the Gokarna Forest Golf Resort in a bid to support the cause of those with spinal injuries. The proceeds will be donated to SIRC. Other major attractions are a sumptuous lunch followed by a fun filled day for families.
