Great time for Sallu fans

MEERUT:

Eid and the fasting month of Ramadan over, at least 200 Salman Khan fans here organised a huge procession in the town before converging at a theatre to watch his latest Jaan-e-Mann.

“During Ramadan Muslims don’t watch movies. So, more than 200 members of Salman’s fan club got together and toured the town with a band and then reached Nandan theatre to watch the film on October 26,” Matloof, a Meerut-based distributor, said.

The triangular love story also starring Akshay Kumar and Preity Zinta is running to packed houses in three theatres in this town. “The film released before Eid, so didn’t get a good response. But people have thronged theatres after Eid. Every show is packed,” said Matloof.

Matloof’s statement also proves Salman right. The star had told a TV channel a few days ago: “I don’t think Eid or Diwali is the right time to release a film because you want to spend time with your family during festivals. But I knew that the film will pick up after Eid.”
